OCTOBER 20th - DECEMBER 3rd
ADNAN CHARARA & MICHEL ERUSSARD

ScenesWeb-01.jpg

Galerie Camille presents the work of Adnan Charara and Michel Erussard, October 20th through December 3rd.

Explore the theatrical presence of two artists whose work treads the line between comedy and tragedy. Charara and Erussard both saturate their artwork with a whimsy that ultimately reveals darker undertones.

With each artist, spare backgrounds present forlorn expressions and characters that interact yet still seem disconnected from one another. Erussard’s drawn and painted vignettes are poetic or humorous, with text often lettered onto the scene’s blank space. Charara’s intertwining characters harken to his cultural experiences, as well as his thoughts on war and the fraught relationships between peoples in contemporary society.

Discover the comedy and tragedy of our times through Charara and Erussard with cartoonish compositions that expose serious themes of identity, relationships, war, and social constructs.

OPENING RECEPTION: Friday, October 20, 6-9 pm
